Australia First supported the December 13 rally in Brisbane Square at 11am against censorship of the internet. Did you know that Australia First New Sydney web site, namely http://ausfirst.alphalink.com.au, is blocked by the browser used on internet computers in Brisbane City Council libraries? Even a search using a different browser will be blocked.

Australia First members from all over the nation will be attending the protest against multiracial immigration at Martin Place in Sydney on February 1, 2009. A group of Brisbane party branch members will be going to Sydney for this important expression of opposition to the daft immigration system which is ruining our cities in a variety of ways. All inquiries to Mike Bellringer

Party leader Jim Saleam will be in Brisbane in January so any members or supporters keen to meet him should contact John Drew as soon as possible. Be sure to advise the Sydney office of your e-mail address so that you can keep informed of developments via the Eureka! newsletter.

The inaugural Australia First tennis afternoon will be held in mid January in Brisbane. It will be late in the afternoon at a church court in a western suburb. The nearby church hall provides plenty of shade by then. Tennis rackets will be provided for those members who do not own one. Touch football or soccer can also be played nearby as well. For those who enjoy alcoholic drinks a train station is nearby.

On 22-12-2008 Ngaire McGaw of 17 Mile Rocks in Brisbane had the following letter to the editor published in the Courier Mail newspaper. A portion of it is below.

" I refer to your editorial "Caution needed on immigration" (C-M, Dec 20-21), focussing on Premier Anna Bligh's call for the federal government to revoke the visas of foreign mining workers so that their jobs can go to australian nationals. I agree that caution is needed when debating immigration or any form of population policy. However, Premier Bligh has said nothing to suggest that she is racist. South-east Queensland has been bursting at the seams for years so I am delighted to see immigration levels being reviewed because of the mining and economic downturn..........It is not just the economic downturn that should be driving a debate about population. In the climate change context, calling for less immigration does not necessarily mean you are racist."

"How Can I Stop Climate Change" is a recent book by Helen Burnley and Chris Haslam. Published by Collins on behalf of Friends of the Earth in the U.K., it is a very readable analysis of the global warming issue. For more information see http://www.foe.co.uk/living  Australia First is an environmentalist political party. We are different from the Greens in that we recognise the folly of high levels of largely non-white, nondiscriminatory immigration. We also campaign against the current immigration system. This book provides many practical ways to do your bit to reduce energy consumption.
